ANDREW RICCIO-HUNTER

I’ve had a love and appreciation for music ever since I can remember. My Dad is a percussionist and vocalist, so I would often be found in the living room bopping around to my Dad’s music even when I was in diapers. The segue from playing every sport imaginable and doing Boy Scouts to professionally pursuing Musical Theatre is quite astonishing to even me, but I could not be happier. I did a Musical Theatre summer camp when I was around ten years old because they “needed more boys.” I was bitten by that little acting bug, and I simply can’t stop! 

 

As I continue to train and nurture my love for the arts, I’ve discovered that all I want to do for the rest of my life is to share the gift of vulnerability with people. As a young queer teen, I often found my only safe haven to emote was while watching theatre or beautiful films. I can’t help but want to replicate this experience for others in whatever capacity I am given the opportunity to. Art heals people, and I have to be a part of that.  

 

I was born and raised in Palm Springs, California but am currently based in New York City where I am working on completing my BM in Musical Theatre (‘23) at Manhattan School of Music.
